Don't tell my mum - Why not make it brilliant?

Why not make it brilliant?

Google offices, Zurich: Brilliant.

So, today Coldplay released the first single of their next album for free on their website.

This post isn’t about the track itself - I imagine there’ll be plenty of chat about that elsewhere.

Believe it or not, this post is about an email. Yes, an email.

The email in question is the one I received with the link to the track download.

It looks like this:

Here is the link for your free download of ‘Violet Hill’. It will expire in 6 hours.

Download URL:

Thanks,

Talk about YAWN. Where’s the drama?

  1. Why haven’t the band written me a note to say thanks for downloading it?
  2. Why isn’t there more info. on the rest of the album, i.e. release dates or track names?
  3. I had to give them my email address and postcode so why isn’t there local information incorporated somehow?

Whatever you say about their music, this is a band that’s all about drama:

Just because it’s an email doesn’t mean they don’t have to bother.

Rant over :)
